The amount this news affected the world was unimaginable. As many know, she created the song ‘Jolene’. This song had made an incredible impact on the music industry. Matter of fact, all her songs did! But does anyone truly know the backstory to this song?
The song ‘Jolene’ had its own backstory just from listening. In this song, Dolly is pleading to a striking woman not to “take her man”. Although, the backstory to this song was two separate life-experiences. The plot came from a woman who had a crush on her husband at the time. While Dolly had jealousy and insecurity raging inside her, she decided to turn her internal feelings into a song. The name simply came from an eight year old fan with stunning red hair, green eyes, and beautiful skin. Who knew this song would become so popular and memorable?
Although she was a part of the music industry, she was also an actress! She first started in the film industry when she landed the role in Colin Higgins film ‘9 to 5’. On the topic of this film, she also won ‘New Star of the Year’ from this movie! Another movie that sparked interest is Herbert Ross’s ‘Steel Magnolias’. Coincidentally, this is how her delicious fruit cocktail pie became well-known, also known as “Cuppa, Cuppa, Cuppa”.
